Santa Cruz Valley Historical Society
Help Us Honor Our Past and Educate Future Generations
We serve the Santa Cruz Valley, including Sahuarita, Green Valley, Continental, and surrounding rural communities. Our programs are designed to engage a diverse audience, with a particular focus on the retired population in Green Valley and school-age children in Sahuarita. Through educational programming, community presentations, and youth outreach, we provide meaningful opportunities for residents of all ages to connect with and better understand the history and heritage of our region. Our efforts help strengthen community identity, encourage intergenerational learning, and ensure local history is preserved and shared for the benefit of the entire community.
Our Mission
The Society’s mission is to collect, preserve and share the history of Arizona's Santa Cruz Valley/Greater Sahuarita area in an effort to educate future generations and foster a better understanding and appreciation of the values that built our communities and contributed to Pima County’s heritage.
Our Vision
To develop a deeper community interest and understanding of local history through a variety of educational programs.
To work with local administrative entities to preserve and maintain historically significant structures while providing a location for educational programs, community group meetings and historical research.
To research and preserve documents and artifacts relative to the history of SCVHS and its residents.
To encourage residents of Santa Cruz Valley Area, through their participation with the SCVHS, to place structures on the National, State, Town and County registers of historical places and recognize our historical events and structures in our area.

A Message From Us:
We are young but have always been going at full throttle with our programs after the first 6 months of existence. As a historical society, we are in need of quality equipment to record and preserve old and new stories for the future generations.
