More About Us

This year, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary. What began in 1976 as a small, volunteer‑powered effort has grown into a regional lifeline across five counties. At the heart of this work are our locations in Tucson, Amado, Green Valley, Willcox, and Nogales. These sites reflect our long-standing commitment to meeting people where they are and ensuring that everyone in Southern Arizona has access to nutritious food and supportive services.

We’re a proud partner food bank of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and hunger relief organizations. In 2018, we were named Food Bank of the Year by Feeding America, in large part because of our innovative work rescuing fresh produce from the border of Mexico and redistributing it to local families and other food banks.

Testimonials

"I hope that the little amount helps someone if not a few people out. I'm not rich but I'm rich enough to help people that have less than me and if that counts for anything then I'll take that. I just want to help my community (Arizonans) as much as possible. One can't thrive if we don't strive for a greater purpose to help others."

"Thank you for the amazing and extremely important work you are doing. I am so happy to be even a small part of the work you do. If I won a million dollars, I would give you half of it. I am very grateful to have you in our community. There are a lot of good people out there doing good things. But, right now there are so many people hurting, so many people are scared. All I ask is that you keep doing what you’re doing and above all else, do not give up hope."
