From After School to Future Success

For more than 30 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz County has provided a safe, supportive space where youth can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships. Serving generations of young people, the Club has helped shape future leaders, professionals, and engaged community members—many of whom return to give back as staff and mentors.

Beyond after-school and summer programs, the Club’s VIP Workforce Program equips teens with real-world job skills, leadership experience, and career exploration opportunities, helping bridge the gap between education and employment.

More than a program, the Club is a second home for many youth and a trusted support system for families—empowering young people to succeed academically, develop strong character, and become positive contributors to their community.

Our Mission

To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, healthy, and caring citizens.

Our Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz County has been serving youth in our community since May 1993. For more than three decades, we have opened our doors to thousands of young people, providing a safe place to learn, grow, and build positive relationships. Over the past 30+ years, countless youth have passed through our Club, and many have gone on to become leaders, professionals, parents, and positive contributors to our community. Seeing former members return as staff, volunteers, and supporters is one of our greatest successes and a testament to the long-term impact of our organization.

In addition to our after-school and summer programs, we are very proud of our VIP Workforce Program, which focuses on workforce readiness, job skills, leadership development, and career exploration for teens ages 16-17. Through this program, youth learn responsibility, teamwork, communication skills, and gain real work experience that prepares them for future employment and career pathways. The program helps bridge the gap between education and the workforce, especially for teens who may be entering the workforce right after high school.

We are more than just an after-school program we are a second home for many of our members and a support system for families in our community. Our mission is not only to help youth succeed academically, but to help them become responsible, caring, and productive citizens who will give back to their community in the future.
