Help Us Make Sure No Neighbor Is Left Behind

Arivaca Human Resource (AHR) is the “heart” of our rural community, ensuring no neighbor is left behind. Each year, we deliver nearly 17,000 hot meals and over 1,000 food boxes, with one in three residents relying on our support. Our dedicated drivers, some serving for nearly a decade, provide not just food but daily wellness checks and vital social connection for homebound seniors—often being the only person a client sees that day. Through Helping H.E.A.R.Ts, we offer fast, barrier-free emergency aid for utilities, medical needs, and more, turning crisis into stability for vulnerable families and elders. By leveraging grassroots partnerships, trusted local leadership, and innovative solutions, AHR continues to build resilience, dignity, and hope for Arivaca’s most underserved.

Founded in 1988, Arivaca Human Resource (AHR) has been a shining example of our community’s spirit in action. For over three decades, we have been the heart and soul of Arivaca, a unique and historic village tucked near the Arizona–Mexico border. With open arms and unwavering dedication, we serve our diverse population of 700, ensuring that everyone—especially seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and those facing financial hardship—has access to life’s essentials.

Arivaca is a place where every neighbor should have reliable access to nourishing food, safe shelter, and supportive resources. We are committed to being champions for those experiencing hunger, homelessness, and poverty. Guided by a community-led spirit, our team delivers responsive programs—from mobile meals and food boxes to energy assistance, emergency care, and senior outreach—bringing practical help where it’s most needed. In our role as neutral facilitators for the Coordinating Council, we coordinate resources, foster collaboration, and turn ideas into action—ensuring that even a small organization can have a big impact. We’re the little engine that could, empowering Arivaca to not only survive but thrive, with a resilient, connected, and hopeful community at the center.

Our slogan, "The Heart of Arivaca," isn’t just a phrase; it’s a promise. Like a heart pumps life-giving blood, we bring in support from volunteers, generous donors, and partners, ensuring a vibrant and thriving community where everyone has the opportunity to live their best life.
