Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary
Help Us Grow the Sanctuary, Grow Their Freedom
Equine Voices rescue the hardest of the hardest cases of abuse, neglect, starvation, abandonment and so many more. Without our service to the community to help equines, most of our equines were facing a horrendous fate of feedlot and slaughter. Equine Voices has saved hundreds of equines in the past 22 years, and with 65 equines currently at the sanctuary, not only is it extremely costly, but the workload is also extreme, which is why our volunteer program is so critically important.
Equine Voices began with five acres, and has expanded to twenty five acres. The new visitors center, barns, guest house, corrals, tack rooms, were added as the funds were raised. One major success is that we are a debt free organization and have been since 2004.
Our Mission
We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue equines from neglect, abuse, abandonment and slaughter. Additionally, we rehabilitate, adopt and/or provide a safe and loving sanctuary to those equines who need a forever home. Through education, we empower individuals to learn about Premarin and horse slaughter.
Why Do We Need Your Help?
With our land expansion in South Carolina, the new seventeen-acre property is in need of supplies such as feed and water troughs, wheelbarrow, t-post caps, and fencing. It is our goal to relocate 4-6 horses to the East Coast in order to have them serve as ambassadors for education and awareness about the plight of the detrimental abuses' equines endure.
Testimonial
"I would like to thank you once again for all of your kindness and hospitality in allowing us, The Saguaro Horsemen's Group, to visit the ranch in Amado yesterday Nov. 12th.
The new Visitor Center is beautiful, and was a pleasant and comfortable place to hold our monthly PotLuck Lunch and regular business meeting. Really appreciated it !!
We especially enjoyed the video, and having the chance to hear you speak about the history of Equine Voices, from the humble beginnings in 2004 through all of the challenges and successes that have marked these past 19 years. So pleased that you also took the time to answer everyone's questions, and even expanded in detail when explaining the horrors of the Premarin crisis.
The walking tour was nice, although short... but perhaps next time we will have our members more prepared for the full walkabout.
Karen, you made a nice impression on our group... I know that several of them will be making individual donations... in addition to those of us who are already doing so. We will also decide on a group donation sometime early next year.
You deserve a lot of credit for sticking to your vision, and for making responsible and savvy decisions regarding Equine Voices. True leadership! The Mustang Barn, Visitor Center, and many of the projects we saw in the 10 acre "expansion" stand as a true testament to dedication and hard work. Keep it going strong...
Once again, a hearty thank you from the small but mighty "13" of our members who had such a great time during our visit.
Sincerely,
Ted Douglas"
